This class will focus on free flowing background colors and adding the lilac's so creatively, with tiny raindrops to add to the beauty.

Enjoy the fun of creating a picture with seeds as your medium. Crop Art has been displayed at the Minnesota State Fair for a number of years, but not many classes are offered for this unusual art form. There will be patterns available or create your own. Beginners welcome. Register prior to class. There is no material fee.

Recycle some of your "closeted" purses, or buy a new one to bring to class. We will be bringing new life to your favorite handbag with color, patterns, or design of your choice. Purses need to have a little texture in the leather for best results. No shiny surfaces for this art. Some gently used purses will be available for purchase or bring one of your own.
Supplies to bring with you to class - brushes, water container, paper towels, styrofoam plate for paint palette.

Instructor: Mike Traver This class is 1 pm to 4 pm and cost $20.00
This class will delve into one of Mike's favorite subjects - the landscape. Students will be able to use either colored or graphite pencils. After a brief demonstration of the materials, the student's will follow Mike's lead through a series of steps that, when complete, will result in a drawing of their own creation guaranteed to amaze friends and family. More importantly they will also walk away with the skills and insights to continue drawing.
A Supply Fee of $15.00 is to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class and includes: two artist quality graphite pencils, two artist quality colored pencils, one artist quality eraser and the artist paper for the final landscape drawing.

Watercolor actually moves on the paper making it the perfect medium for painting moving water. Day one - Learn to paint waves - could be the ocean, could be Lake Superior! Could be just to have fun and learn how to let it flow and become alive. Day Two - Learn to paint seashells.

This sweet little basket is perfect for holding your cocktail napkins at your next Happy Hour Event. There will be color choices available and cocktail napkins included for your first get-together. All basket supplies will be included and the project will be finished before you leave. Bring the following if you have them available: pencil, craft scissors (sharp, but not your good fabric scissors), snap clothes pins, ruler, letter opener or small flat screwdriver.

Instructor: Dar Brooks 612-940-2094 Full Day class - 5 hours - 10am to 3pm and cost $50.00
This is a wonderful mixed media class for beginners or established artists. Demos will be exciting and teach unique ways to use materials and texturing techniques that will add depth to your work. Students will learn patterns of light and dark that will add energy and impact to their landscape paintings. Acrylics, watercolors, and collage will be used. Plenty of individual attention will be given.
Bring paper towels, notebook, scissors, favorite color acrylic paints, watercolor paints, a landscape picture with rocks and water. Paper, texturing supplies, and brushes will be available for student use, or bring your own. Supply fee covers matte medium, illustration board, rice papers, and finishing supplies.

Instructor: Dar Brooks 612-940-2094 Full Day class - 5 hours - 10am to 3pm and cost $50.00
Think you are not creative? Then this class is for you! There are no mistakes! All levels of students are welcome and will be inspired and motivated. The goal of the class is to free you up, energize you and bring you to the next level of your art. Traditional and contemporary watercolor techniques will be shown in easy to follow demos. Dar will guide students in choosing subjects, composition, and design elements that will enhance all your paintings! Students will also explore the exciting use of mixed media art supplies enhancing their paintings with depth and visual impact. Please bring to class: Watercolor paints, at least 3 colors of acrylic paint, Liquitex matte medium, paper towels, your favorite brushes, 2 full sheets of 140# professional grade watercolor paper, scissors, notebook pencil, and reference pictures you would like to paint. They can be real or abstract. If you do not have supplies, please call Dar as soon as you register. Paint brushes will be available for student use, and supply fee covers mixed media supplies. You may bring a lunch or go out.
