Friday | | Watercolor: Birch Trees

This is a beginners class, but those with experience are welcome.
Watercolors - ever wanted to try it? Now's your chance! Join the "Birch Lady" Julia Jones and she will show you a fun, easy way to paint a birch landscape. If you don't have watercoloring supplies, she will furnish all you need. At the end of the session your very own signed original work of art will be placed in a mat ready for framing. No apprehension needed - anyone can watercolor!

Using Collage to Tell a Story - 16 years old to adult
Instructor: Therese Kunz 218-792-5779
Class is 10am to 12 noon and cost $30.00 Starting with candid photos/snapshots as inspiration we will build a collage that tells a story-either fictional or autobiographical. Learn new techniques using layering, creative surfaces and personal imagery to breathe life into your artwork. Bring a copy of your favorite photo(s) and other personal "artifacts" (use laser printer, not inkjet as it will bleed). I will have some photos available too.

This class will teach you exciting techniques from "the birch lady" for painting on Birch Bark with watercolor and acrylic. Create a small artwork that you will frame in class - a momento of the North Country! Age 10 and up.

Operate on your watercolors using sterile gauze. It is such a fun, free technique to create wonderful textures. You will be amazed at your finished landscape painting.

Class is 10am to 12 noon and cost $15.00 If someone were to write the book of your life, what would the” book cover” be? Using images, words and other design elements you will create a book cover on illustration board that is uniquely yours while learning basic collage methods and techniques. Bring other personal imagery (original or copies) if you wish.
